Time flies

When I started mobile blogging I wanted to make an entry every day,
but that has failed. I guess that is what repentance is for.

Scott (Elder James) called from the airport in Georgia. It was fun for
everyone to get to say hello to him.

Well I did not finish this entry yesterday. So I will continue with
today. This morning I went out to look at our plants and trees and at
the bottom of the cherry tree lay a coiled sleeping rattlesnake.
Because it was so close to the house I decided it needed to be
disposed of. After I got a shovel I could not bring myself to get
close enough to kill it. So we called Walker over to kill the snake.
Which it did with no quams about it.

After the snake incident Lynn went out to check on the tomatos and
they grew two to three inches. Then Laura and Daniel sat and counted
the "baby" tomatos.

Swinging in the hammock

Daniel and I are out swinging in the hammocks. We have had such a
cold winter that we have spent more time indoors than out. Usually by
mid May we have been wearing shorts for weeks and spend more time
outdoors. We are just now getting into spending time outside. We just
set up our hammocks and everyone is thinking about setting up the
swimming pool

In seminary we finished Isaiah. Today we started Jerimiah. Every time
I would give a reference someone would break out in "Jerimiah was a
bullfrog."

Business has slowed down this week which is rough. I would like to
find a way to help stimulate orders but that would take me from the
office and everyone that could take my place has just left. So I feel
alone in running the office I have lots of help just I need to be
there and can't walk away.

Mobile Blogging

I am trying to send out a blog from my iPod via e-mail.

Today I started out the day by teaching seminary for Jessica. We
studied Isaiah 36 to 47. Those chapters talk about idol worship and
showed how idol worship will get you nowhere.

When I got home from seminary Lynn said that her dad was ready to buy
sod for their courtyard. So we went into Home Depot and bought 4
palates of sod. Now the James' have a very nice place. Now if only the
wind will stop (it has been blowing upto 70 mph).

Long time again!

Well it has been a long time again. I keep wanting to keep up with my blog but then I get sidetracked. I do keep adding pictures to my web album. It seems that I write in my blog as much as I keep a journal. Which is not good.

We have really gotten into the habit of reading to the children instead of watching TV. We are almost done with Eragon, Aubre and Emalie beg to read now. They won't let us stop reading and now beg to read whenever there is a spare moment.

Things are going well. I was feeling so much better for a while, but now I have taken a turn for the worse. I keep looking on the bright side that I was doing better, and hope that this change is only temporary.

We went to see the Balloons

We wanted to go to the Balloon Fiesta, but everytime we thought about going I was not feeling very well. So when we woke up Saturday morning I decided to load the family up in the car and go see the balloons. Lynn was right in that I could not handle all the walking, so we decided to sit in the parking lot of Target by the Balloon Fiesta park. After waiting for some time the balloon pilots were given the go ahead to lift off. The children were very excited they would scream out each time they saw a balloon rise over the interstate.

Our day at the zoo

Saturday September 2nd we decided to go to the zoo. It had been almost six months since we last went. Lynn packed us a picnic lunch and we loaded up and went to the zoo. We arrived at the zoo at 11:30 so we decided to have our lunch outside the zoo at the park across the street, so we would not have to carry it all over the zoo with us. As we prepared our lunch the wind came up and we were freezing, the children all said that we are not going to like the zoo it will be too cold. So we ate our lunch and thought that we could at least go see the indoor exibits. After lunch we went across to the zoo. Once inside it was delightfull. We began with a picture infront of the flamingos, it is becoming tradition.
Then the children all ran as fast as they could to see the new baby hippo. They were so used running that they did not stop it was like pulling teeth just to get this group picture, notice Laura is ready to go again.
After all the running we came to the new play area at the zoo and guess what, the children let us res, for almost two hours they played on the new equipment. Next to the play area is a water feature that randomly shoots water into the air. The older kids loved getting wet, and it was not cold any more, thank goodness. This is James after he studied where the water shot up and then sat and waited for the water to come up.

He was laughing so hard I think that he may have wet himself but you could not tell. Posted by Picasa

Holy Agua!

With all the rain we have had every time we would see a puddle the kids would yell out holy agua!

On Monday August 7th we went to town to see a movie. As we crossed the Rio San Juan it was overflowwing its banks. As the kids yelled out holy Agua! Lynn and I were in shock as to how much water was flowwing in the river(a). In all the time that we have lived out here we have never seen the river a third as full as it was that day. So Tuesday morning we decided to go and take some pictures of the river overflowing its banks. As we pulled up to the bridge there were several people there taking pictures of the river being so full.
As we crossed the railroad tracks we saw that the river had overflowed and was now filling up a low area by the tracks. As we drove up to the new lake we saw that the water was flowing into the housing development. When we looked at the new lake we saw two houses under water.
After we returned home Lynn's dad said that he was going to see if anybody needed help.
(a) I remember one time when someone was visiting Roswell from back east, they were talking about the drainage ditch that flowed through Roswell. It turned out that they were refering to the Hondo river. Some of the people in Roswell took some offence at refering to our river as a drainage ditch. So when I see the Rio San Jose I think of it as a drainage ditch. Posted by Picasa

Our visit to Roswell

We just got back from our visit to Roswell. Grandma sugested we go up to NMMI's rock garden for some pictures. So here is a picture that we took. Aren't they cute!
We had lots of fun. We rode the carasel, had lunch in the park, and went to the library. We also went to McDonalds for a pirate night. The kids got their faces painted and dressed-up as pirates. Aubre got a movie ticket to go see Pirates of the Carriabian. She had been waiting to see that movie for months.

The saddest part of our trip was on the first day Silk (our dog) disapeared. We hung flyers, went to the pound and humane socity every day. But no luck, we only pray that whoever has her will take good care of her. Posted by Picasa

The van died on the way to church one morning. After some time we got it up on the car dolly to take it to town to have it repaired. Daniel decided he was going to pull the van to town he grabed a rope tied to the van and pulled with all his might to take the van to town to be repaired.
After some time of pulling and heaving with all his might the van would not move. So he called James and Benjamin to help. But the van would still not move the three pulled so hard and tried to move that van that:
Benjamin and James fell to the ground with a kerplunk. And again the boys tried with all their might to pull that stuborn van to town. But it refused to budge. So Daniel went and found his sisters and said we must get this van to town so it can be fixed.
So the girls stood behind the van and pushed with all their might to move that van and get it to town to be fixed. To no avail the van would not move. So Daniel found papa and asked, "Will you pull my van to town with your truck so it can be fixed?" And that is what papa did. Posted by Picasa
